The grill's out, the seasoning's on hand, and from here it's just a matter of direction. Classic. Dressed up. Lighter. No bun at all.
Here are five ways to make the call.
Big Batch Summer Burgers
This is the one you make when you want to already be ready. Twelve patties, stacked and frozen, so the answer to "what's for dinner" is already sitting in the freezer.
Makes 12–14 patties · 12 min
3½ lbs lean ground beef
⅓ cup Burger Seasoning
1 cup ketchup
1 cup Dijon or honey mustard
Mix the beef, seasoning, ketchup, and mustard by hand until just combined. Portion into 12–14 patties. Grill 3–5 minutes per side, or cook straight from frozen — 5–7 minutes per side.
Good Times Cheeseburgers
Twenty minutes, start to finish, and the ones that go first at any backyard gathering.
Serves 4 · 20 min
- 1 lb extra-lean ground beef
- 2 tbsp Burger Seasoning
- 1 egg (optional)
- 4 burger buns
- ½ cup grated cheddar or crumbled fresh cheese
- Lettuce, plus your favourite toppings
Mix the beef, seasoning, and egg (if using), then form into four patties. Grill over medium-high with the lid closed, 4 minutes per side, cheese on in the last minute to melt. Stir together mayo, a bit of 3 Onion Dip Mix, ketchup, and relish for the sauce — spread on the bun and build.
Beef Parmesan Burgers
Green onion and Parmesan folded right into the patty — the twist that came out of wanting something a little different without making it complicated.
Serves 4 · 20 min
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 2 tbsp Burger Seasoning
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 4 ciabatta buns
- 4 slices mozzarella or provolone
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan
Mix the beef, seasoning, and green onion, then form into four patties. Grill over medium-high with the lid closed, 4–5 minutes, cheese on for the last minute. Warm the marinara, spoon generously over the patty, finish with Parmesan and basil if you like.
Grilled Chicken Burgers
The lighter version of burger night, and just as juicy. Ground chicken instead of beef, a little Roasted Garlic Aioli mixed right in — this is the one for the night you want something a bit different without losing the burger itself.
Serves 6 · 10 min
- 1½ lbs ground chicken or turkey
- 3 tbsp Burger Seasoning
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp Roasted Garlic Aioli or honey mustard
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp water
Whisk the egg with water, seasoning, and aioli or mustard. Crumble in the chicken, add breadcrumbs, and mix to combine. Divide into six patties. Grill over medium-high with the lid closed, about 5 minutes per side.
Cheeseburger Salad
For the night you want the flavour without the bun. Easy to build with whatever's on hand, and a good way to keep burger season going on the nights a full meal feels like too much.
Serves 4 · 10 min
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 2–3 tbsp Burger Seasoning
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 head iceberg lettuce
- ½ cup grated cheese
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 dill pickle
- ½ small red onion
- ⅓ cup 3 Onion Dip Mix (optional)
Brown the beef, then stir in the seasoning and ketchup, cooking a couple more minutes. Chop the lettuce, tomatoes, pickle, and onion. Divide the lettuce across plates, top with the 3 Onion Dip if using, then the beef, tomatoes, onion, pickle, and cheese.
The one thing they all have in common
Same seasoning, five different directions. That's really the whole idea of Burger Seasoning — mix it in once, and the rest of summer figures itself out.
