A deliciously spicy burger gets its kick from a blend of real jalapeno peppers, Cayenne, paprika and onion. When layered with Roasted Garlic Aioli and all the fixings, you get one flavorful hamburger!


Ingredients
1 lb (450 g)
lean ground beef
1
small tomato

red onion
1 cup
shredded lettuce
12 cup
low-sodium sliced pickles

whole wheat burger buns

Toppings (optional): prepared Chipotle or Roasted Garlic Aioli

Preparation
  1.  Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Lightly brush with oil.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef and seasoning. Using a fork or your hands, mix until well blended. Form into four equal patties.
  3. Grill patties with lid closed 3–4 min per side, until cooked through.
  4. Meanwhile, thinly slice tomato and onion.
  5. Tuck burgers into buns and top with sliced veggies, lettuce, pickles, and aioli, if desired.
Tips

PORTOBELLO MUSHROOM BURGERS: Brush both sides of four mushroom caps with olive oil and 2 tbsp seasoning, getting as much of the seasoning and oil in the gills as you can. Grill with lid closed until tender, about 5 min per side.

JALAPENO POPPER BURGERS: In a bowl, mix 12 cup light cream cheese and 14 cup shredded cheddar cheese. Tuck burgers into buns and top each with 12 tbsp cream cheese mix and toppings of choice.

Perfectly Balance Your Plate

Serve with 2 cups leafy greens and 1 tbsp favourite Epicure Dressing.
