Rich, gooey, and oh-so-indulgent, butter tarts are a delectable addition to every holiday spread! A Canadian classic (butter tarts go way back to 1900!), we’ve made them modern: quick to bake, gluten-free (depending on the tart shells you use), and sugar-conscious. Try them this holiday season, and we bet they’ll soon become a holiday tradition!

142 g (5.0 oz) per package

A rich 'n' buttery filling with caramelized sugar and a hint of maple.

  Prep tips:

  • Make with store-bought frozen tart shells
  • The filling is too runny for a large 9" pie shell. Best used with tart or mini tart shells. Makes 18 mini tarts or 12 regular tarts
  • Add:
  • Chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts; raisins, or dark chocolate chips
  • A splash of rum or bourbon to mix before baking
  • A pinch of ground Cinnamon
  •  Drizzle tarts with caramel sauce or chocolate fudge sauce
  • Customize the recipe and omit egg (will make the tarts runnier) or swap butter for vegan butter
