Power Up Salted Caramel Mocha

A cool and frosty pick-me-up. Bananas and dates create a rich, caramelly experience, mixed with a boost from protein powder. For a sweeter version, add vanilla extract.

Ingredients
2 pitted dates
1 small frozen banana
1 heaping cup ice cubes
1⁄2 cup cold coffee
1⁄2 cup milk, your choice
2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1⁄2 tsp vanilla extract, optional
Preparation
- Coarsely chop dates. Slice banana into chunks. Place both in a blender.
- Add ice cubes, coffee, milk, protein blend, cocoa powder, and vanilla, if using.
- Cover and blend until just slushy; add more milk, as needed, to reach desired consistency. Pour into chilled glasses.

Tips
If dates are too hard or brittle, pre-soak them in boiling water until soft, about 10 min. Drain and then chop.
