oat flakes
1 12 cups
boiling water
12 cup
butter
1 cup
sugar
1 cup
brown sugar, tightly packed

vanilla extract

all-purpose flour
1 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp

Preparation
  1. Combine oats and water. Let stand for 20 minutes.
  2. Lightly butter and flour a 9” x 13” pan. Shake out excess flour.
  3. Preheat oven to 350° F (175° C).
  4. Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla extract and beat until smooth. Add oatmeal mixture and stir to combine.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture and blend until smooth.
  6. Spread evenly into pan. Bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Frost, if desired, and serve from the pan.
