This green bean dish is quick, fresh, and full of flavour. Tender beans are topped with toasted almonds for a crisp, nutty crunch, while a squeeze of lemon brightens everything up beautifully.
Ingredients
1 ½ lbs green beans, trimmed
2 tbsp butter
¼ cup sliced almonds, toasted
2 tsp lemon juice
2 tsp Lemon Dilly
SPG, to taste
Preparation
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and return to a boil for 3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
While beans are cooking, melt butter in a fry pan. Add sliced almonds and stir until nuts are golden, about 4 - 5 minutes.
Add green beans, lemon juice, Lemon Dilly to pan, stirring to coat. Season with a sprinkle of SPG to taste.
Green Beans may be cooked up to 24hrs in advance. Once they are cooked, refresh them in cold water to stop cooking. Drain well, cover and refrigerate until needed.
