Unleash your inner BBQ genius and stoke the flames of flavour! With your rib rub and a few simple steps, you can master classic, southern-style ribs. Start by baking the ribs in the oven to get that tender, fall-off-the-bone meat, and finish on the barbeque to get some char and smokiness. If you want to use spareribs instead, cook in the oven for an extra hour.

Ingredients

2 lbs (900 g) baby back ribs

1/4 cup BBQ Chicken & Rib Rub (divided)

2 tbsp oil

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 300° F (150° C).
  2. Liberally shake 2 tbsp BBQ Chicken & Rib Rub on both sides of ribs. Rub in if desired.
  3. Tightly wrap the ribs with foil and place on a sheet pan.
  4. Bake ribs in oven for 1.5 hours or until ribs are tender. Remove from oven and drain off any liquid.
  5. Preheat barbecue or the broiler to medium-high.
  6. Combine remaining BBQ Chicken & Rib Rub with oil and liberally brush both sides of ribs. Grill for 4–5 minutes per side until ribs are nicely browned.
