Classic Gingersnap Cookies

Re-introduce your family to this classic cookie.
Ingredients
3⁄4 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1⁄4 cup dark molasses
1 egg
2 tsp baking soda
2 1⁄4 cup all-purpose flour
1⁄2 tspSea Salt (Grinder)
1 tsp ginger (ground)
1 tspCinnamon
1⁄2 tsp nutmeg (ground)
1⁄2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1⁄2 cup white sugar
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 375° F (190° C).
- Cream shortening and brown sugar. Add molasses, mix thoroughly then add whole egg and mix again.
- Sift all dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture.
- Roll cookies into 3⁄4" balls, roll in white sugar. Place on Sheet Pan lined with Sheet Pan Liner. Flatten slightly with the back of a spoon and bake for 10 minutes.
