Green Beans with Almonds

Green beans are an excellent source of fibre, folate and potassium. In small amounts, almonds provide valuable monosaturated fats.


Ingredients
1 12 lb (775 g)
green beans, trimmed
2 tbsp
butter
3 tbsp
sliced almonds, toasted
2 tsp
lemon juice
Sea Salt, to taste
Black Pepper, to taste

Preparation
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and return to a boil for 3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. While beans are cooking, melt butter in a frying pan. Add sliced almonds and stir until nuts are golden, about 4–5 minutes.
  3. Add green beans and lemon juice to pan, stirring to coat. Season to taste with Salt and Pepper.
